Gaming: a branding tool

by Francesco Ungaro on Jul 12, 2010

EPICWIN

EPICWIN is the most recent application for iPhone that allows to transform daily life into a game: every duty deleted from TTBD list gives you new power. It seems it got inspired by “Four Square” the social network that turns real life actions and activity into a game.

More and more “gaming” is becoming a strong and effective approach for brands to engage and entertain consumers.

There are many approaches to game:
ingame adv
product placement
limited/special gaming edition
branded games (on line and off line)
iPhone apps

Some gaming advantages:

in-game ADV and product placement don’t interrupt action as commercials do
Consumers spend “happy time” with brands
Nowdays, gamers target is definitely wide: men, women, teens, youngs, DINK, …

Gaming is a new tool for branding and gaming needs branding too…
